Davina Bosanquet

Portraits of horses, polo and racing by one of the UK's most promising young equestrian artists.
Davina Bosanquet (Dee) has been painting animal portraits since leaving Bradfield College in 2000.

After completing a Foundation Course at Bournemouth Arts Institute, she went on to Edinburgh College of Art, where she received a BA Hons degree in illustration, graduating in 2005.

Since then she has been painting horses, riders and other animals. Recent commissions include Olympic Bronze medallist eventer Tina Cook with Miners Frolic, and England Polo player Henry Brett in action at the Cartier match in 2007 (published in Tengoal Magazine).

As well as working to commission, Dee continues to create paintings for the studio, which are exhibited at various galleries and fairs. Working in oil or gouache she uses large, expressive brush-strokes combined with intricate detail, brilliantly capturing both the movement and the spirit of her subjects.
